Problem – Rubus ricolor

Anne Cullen asked 13 years ago

About 8 yrs ago I planted Rubus Tricolor on a long, large bank to give me quick ground cover. Well I got that for a few years but now it’s like something out of ‘Day of the Triffids’. It is growing at a huge rate every year & it seems like the more I cut it back (& that is a huge job) the stronger it grows & the further it travels. I really need it gone at this stage, therefore could you recommend a suitable weedkiller.

Rubus tricolor was killed by frost in many areas, though obviously not with you.

Chop it out, or spray with Roundup at the rate given for killing brushwood.
