I am having trouble with moss continually appearing on tarmac & paths even when treated with proprietry brands Are there any more powerful & longlasting chemicals which kill moss and then have the same effect as simazine in stopping moss reappearing.

Moss on tarmac is largely due to dampness and often shade. Try to keep dust and debris that holds moisture to a minimum.
There is no long-term control and only the existing proprietary products are approved for sale.
The active ingredient diuron which was contained in some path weedkillers controls moss but it has been taken off sale due to its finding its way into groundwater.
