Pruning Jade Tree

Marie Hughes asked 9 years ago

I would like to to know how to prune my Jade ( Crassula Ovata) plant ( tree ) ideally I would prefer not to have to but it has become too big for its location. You will see from the photograph just how large it is.

It is easy to cut off or break off unwanted branches. It can be very handsome and even more tree-like when the lower side-branches are taken off, leaving the main stems like tree trunks.

Any piece, even single leaves, will give rise to a new plant if potted up after a week or ten days drying off the wounds.
