I have a kiwi fruit vine growing in a pot in my greenhouse. It is growing very fast and i would like to prune it back. could you explain how to do this without losing all my fruit buds for next year. Last year was first year i had 3 flowers and 3 fruit this year lots of flower buds Thanks AEP

For training, it is normally trained into a system of permanent rods, like a grapevine. Side growths are allowed to sprout at intervals of about 40cm along the main stems and are shortened to about 30cm. On these shoots the flower arise the following year. Surplus shoots are taken off in summer.
If you are in doubt, wait until flowering and prune out unwanted shoots with no flowers. Kiwi fruit is normally male and female and the female plant needs pollination. So it is unusual for yours to have set fruit on its own.
