I have sown tomato seeds twice (Thompsons Alicante) and they dont appear even after 3 or 4 weeks! My friend sowed the same seeds and he has the same problem. I even have put fleece over the trays!

It may have been a dud batch of seeds which sometimes happens. If you still have them, try a few seeds on damp tissue in the warm of a kitchen and they should sprout. If they do, there is nothing wrong with the seeds, and it may be a compost problem or damage of some other kind.
