Snowdrops – Garden books say to plant the seeds fresh – does that mean in the green as the seed heads are forming now?

Sowing seeds fresh means sowing as soon as the pods split natrually. The best way is to wait until a small percentage of the pods split, then pick the ones you require and keep them on a tray for a few days to split, but not to dry out. Shake out the seeds and sow right away.
