Sourcing trees

john hatch asked 14 years ago
I have about 2 acres, one of which I want to plant with trees. Sort of grow a small forest. Where can I get a lot of trees reasonably cheaply to fill this space,

Plant small whips, 60-90cm tall, about two metres apart on average but at random, not in lines. Birch, hazel, holly are good choices.

Forest nurseries can be found in many parts of the country and certainly in Cavan/Monaghan where you are.

Control weeds and grass this summer and plant into dead sod in autumn.
