I was wondering if anyone could help with some advise as to how to over-winter strawberries that are in hanging baskets? I have heard mixed reports of where to store them – I only have a shed, no greenhouse.

Strawberries are actually completely hardy and can be left outdoors all winter.

Take the baskets down and place them on the ground in an airy part of the garden and check for moisture in any dry spell.

They will last in baskets for a couple of years before losing vigour and needing replacement.
