I planted runners from my strawberry plants and planted them outside.I also have a polytunnel and I was wondering if I could put the new runners into hanging baskets now and leave them for next year?I have cut the foliage off this years strawberrys, do i let them dry out completely or continue to water them?

You can plant runners in hanging baskets but must make sure to water and feed them when in growth because a hanging basket has limited root space.

The foliage of strawberry plants should be cut away after cropping in late summer and the leaves allowed to sprout again and stay in place for winter.

If these plants are in the tunnel, they should be kept just moist over winter.
