I have a sun flower growing in a pot. The leaves are starting to decay and the flower doe not look to be progressing well. The same issue happened to me last year and the flower eventually died. The flower is getting plenty of water. Anything i can use.

A sunflower needs a large pot, with good drainage. You may be over-watering and deniying air to the roots, hence the dying back.
Water just enough to keep the soil moist but not wet, and not waterlogged if drainage is not good. Feed once a week with liquid plant food.
