Suspect tomato blight

TOM DANE asked 16 years ago
Hi Gerry, I have a couple of tomato plants growing outside on a small sheltered patio. They are producing a good crop of tomatos which are still green. Over the last few days I have noticed some leaves turning brown and yellowy and dying and also brown spots / stains on the fruit. Is this blight and if so, what can I do at this stage to fight it?

The leaves of tomatoes are not as badly affected by blight as potatoes, but can  still be truned brown in patches. The fruit gets a hard rippled surface and some bronzing. The sprays are only preventative, so it is too late to spray.

Pick whatever fruits are green and unaffected and allow them to ripen off the plant indoors, or use the green fruit for chutney.
