When and how do I take slips off roses?

Take rose slips when the stems have just flowered. Use a flowered stem, cutting off the top with flowers or buds and trimming lower leaves off. The cuttings should be 15 to 30 cm long.

Root them in a pot of 2 peat and 1 sand mixture with rooting powder. Water and cover with a plastic bag and pot up with new growth and roots appear.
