the proximity of the tree to the house

Is the tree(Cedar?)on the right of the att.photo too close to the house .The distance is about 10 meters from the house to the tree trunk.Should or could the lowre branches be removed or would this destroy its form?

Cedar makes a big tree, but takes about one hundred years and more to do so. Ten metres is a bit close for a mature cedar, it should be 15 metres at least. There is a danger of big cedar trees dropping a branch or two, especially in an exposed place.

But it will be many years before it gets too large, In the meantime you can remove lower branches to give access underneath and to allow grass or other plants to grow.
