Pauline Nolan asked 13 years ago

I have a little patch of lawn at the side of my drive that i would love just to grow ground cover plants in. do i need to take up the existing lawn or can i sow the plants on top of it or will the grass just grow up through the plants.

To plant an area of existing lawn, simply apply Roundup to the grass to kill it. Make sure if is done thoroughly and repeat if necessary.

Then plant into the dead sod, which will rot away. And mulch with 5cm chipped bark to keep weeds down until the plants cover the soil thmeselves.
