using eggshells

As a chef i have access to unlimited amount of eggshells which i find the best deterent for slugs.however, is it possible that using too many could be harmful to the soil/plants ?

Eggshells can be a deterrent to slugs. The shells are formed of calcium and will have a liming effect onthe soil. However, this will be very slight and the soil in your area in Portumna is already likely to limy, so not great change.
