Weeping willow tree in front garden has gone to high and wide, is it possible to cut top of and it would resprout? Father did this years ago with his and it came back nicer looking, but it died several yrs later. Its about 12ft high and 6ft wide.

Willow can be pruned as much as you like when the leaves have fallen, but do so carefully so as not to spoil shape too much.

There is always some danger of causing a rot when pruning is done but it is a small risk.
