Wild flower meadow

Bernie Gavigan asked 16 years ago

I would like to create a wild flower meadow in part of my garden, what do I need to do now to prepare for it? The soil is of poor quality with lots of weeds and rough grass.

Poor soil is a big help as flowers have advantages over grasses in poor soil.

Wild flower meadow, cut in early July, is only for a big garden and is a lot of trouble without the right mowing machinery.

The easiest thing is to grow a wildflower lawn, mowing less often and removing the cut grass to reduce vigour.
