i photographed this orchid in a bog near me during the summer and would like to know if its a rare one ? its beautiful to look at and i’d hate to see anything happen to it as machinery is going in and out all day they have recently put up 18 to20 wind turbines in the bog would like your opinion please.

This looks like the fragrant orchid, Gymnadenia conopsea, which is not particularly rare. It occurs commonly in some localities in the midlands, rare elsewhere. It appears in pastaures and on cut-over bog. It is fragrant as the name suggests.
