Hi
I have recently purchased Irish Gardener's Handbook by Michael Brenock which is fantastic.
I'm now looking to buy a book on shrubs, flowers, trees etc, can anyone recommend a book?
I've been looking at the Complete Guide to Gardening, the RHS Encyclopedia of Gardening & the Green Garden Expert but I'm not sure which one to buy. Can anyone recommend a book (as I am a relative beginner) & I want to get a book I can get my teeth into.

Hi, I have the RHS Gardening Encyclopedia and I find it excellent. The edition I have is the second, the 3rd is out since 2007. It's a bit pricey in some shops, so it's worth pricing around. Amazon have a decent price, but delivery charge would add a bit. There's another site I buy from a lot, bookdepositroy.co.uk, because they have free delivery on everything. They're worth a try. Apart from that, another book I have which I like is The Gardening Year by Alan Titchmarsh. Enjoy! John.

Many thanks for your advice. I found RHS Gardening Encyclopedia (3rd edition) on Sendit.com at a great price & I should have it by next week.
Looking forward to getting my garden in shape.
