What can you say about some outstanding private gardens, like Helen Dillon's garden?
It's extremely interesting to see any garden, created by one or two inspired gardeners. And in such gardens you understand that everything is possible, cause such beautiful gardens were cultivated by people like you and I.

I recently went to Cedar Lodge in Cork a private garden. We stayed hours but didnt notice anytime pass as we enjoyed ourselves so much. A beautiful garden where Neil walked us around and gave us details on any plant we asked about. It was inspiring and depressing in that it was fantastic and then i came home to my own plot. But more inspiring as i cut the lawn pulled some weeds and vowed to make a fresh start in September in my own jungle. Neil and Sonia both tend their garden and claim it keeps them fit and young (very true). We also got tea and advice to make a lovely end to a perfect day. Well worth a visit. background

Go see June Blakes garden. She has a great eye, and I like it better than Jimis, who wants some squid to let you see all 40 feet of his garden. Jimi is a very pleasant and knowledgeable bloke though. see both and buy something. Powerscourt long borders have already fallen over, hopeless.

I got Dahlia Murdock, Joe Pye weed and crocosmia Firebrid from Helen Dillon, top top quality. I also buy from Beth Chatto and Dixter, and national collection holders.

When you go to see these gardens , buy something, it all costs money to maintain even if they do love it. we spend money in woodies, and they do nothing.
