i'm fond of looking at the 3 herb pots outside the kitchen window. my little lad loves getting the chance to pull bits off and throw them in the pot or on the bbq!! is it the time now to thin out the mint? it's gone a bit crazy! can it be repotted and passed on to someone else? has anyone tried freezing or drying any of the old reliables? background

Hi, I grow all of the above but have 4 basil varieties, 3 marjoram varieties and a couple of oregano varieties, as well as dill, fennel, parsley flat and curly, sage, thyme (3 types) mint, but this year am also trying lemon grass and ginger (don't know if the latter is a herb or vegetable ) but hey, if it works who cares what its classified as! will let you know how I get on! background

Basil does better indoors I think - and does get little sticky dots - which I think are flies. You just need to wash it off with cold water! background
