I am looking to grow carrots this year and have read a lot about carrot fly and thinning. however I remember reading or seeing an advert for carrot seeds on a tape. The seed was evenly spaced on the tape and there was no need for thinning. You just rolled out the tape and covered with soil. Idiot proof. No matter what garden centre I visit they don-t know what I am speaking about. Does anybody know where I can purchase carrot seeds on a tape.

Just an update on the carrot seeds. A very helpful lady in "Mr middleton" ordered and got the seeds for me. I recieved 3 packets (50m length in tape) at a price of appox £7.50. Excellent value and excellent service. Cannot praise "Mr Middleton" enough. looking forward to having a good harvest of carrots. Sean.

I saw these in Atlantic HomeCare in Galway some weeks ago - plus other seeds, lettuce etc...all on tape!

HERE'S MY TIP FOR GROWING CARROTS. MINE ARE IN CONTAINERS ON TOP OF THE GARDEN WALL. I HAVE NO PROBLEM WITH CARROT FLY AS THEY CAN'T FLY VERY HIGH ABOVE THE GROUND.
