Well  Saturday was a horrible day, rain and cold. I was snuggled up on the sofa when who should arrive but Tony; he had braved the elements to finish the compost bins. Amazing ; and he set to and completed the job. I now have 3 great bins .  Thanks so much Tony.

Yesterday I attacked the front area of the bins and with my little trowel dug up the mud, removed the stones, levelled it and prepared it for grass sowing. So with another few hours work that area should start to look cared for .  All along the ditch where the compost ,Raspberries and raised beds  are needs a lot of work to clear brambles  and nettles and try to tame it .  I aim to have that as sorted as possible by the end of the coming week.  I think I will need to put down membrane on part of it and perhaps gravel or chippings.  So creaking joints will be the order of the day for a while!!  Hopefully it will be all worth while.

Took pics today and also cleared that ditch referred to above.

Will put up Album later of some garden photos.

Come on who took them.......own up!

Not your house falling down, but my joints protesting! What a gorgeous day forgot they came like that.  Eddie was coming to cut the grass and do a few heavy jobs for me like digging up a huge phormium  . I spent more than 6 hours in the garden , lots of weeding, a little planting, loads of cutting back brambles and ivy and much burning of stuff in my big lantern shaped burner thingy.  Of course there were intervals for cuppas, sango and Coke, the drinking one!!  But to feel warm and see growth and be able to look forward instead of being in a sort of time warp of chill was wonderful.  Hope the weather was good for everyone and that the weekend is good for those who are working during the week.

Exciting but scary !!

High and low roads!

High and low roads!

Chasing the ball Meg had made a muddy path down the garden so I decided to put down stepping stones. Sadly I forgot to tell her to use them so now I have another muddy path  next to them!!  Hopefully I will be able to regrass it in a few weeks.

Better in the wild

Another lovely day here such a pleasure to be out.

About 5 years ago I was in Cobh when the Council were removing the Spring display from the planters so I collected a bag of Primulas , with permission as they were going to be thrown away. I planted some of them in a hidden wild and I fear uncared for part of the garden but each Spring I think they look so much better than those in the Borders. Amazing they grow so tall to compete with the grass, and weeds!

Anemones continue to flower and some great colours , the Blue look good with Aubretia.

Ricinus seeds?
