Good lot of orange in the garden.  I had been looking for Dahlia David Howard for a long time and got it last year. Think it looks well with Achillea ?Paprika.  Also Cuphea and Californian Fuchsia aka Zauschneria.

Senior moment again!!

This is a dote, a dwarf Campanula just coming into flower. The colour is a lovely pure pale blue. I am growing it in a trough.

Well life has been quiet here due to second eye 'being done' and a fall which did a knee in! The latter is still under investigation, scans next week.

But this evening I did a hobble around and took a few pictures.  I am so pleased that at last my attempt to grow Watsonia has been fruitfull . Also the Lilies are starting to open and I love the tall orange one. Also the Pelargonium that Rachel gave me is flowering and is very pretty. I know this is a special plant and am very pleased to have it though i had not the pleasure of knowing the original donor.

The garden is looking rather tired so I am delighted I had the open day two weeks ago.

The sun has just appeared so I have come in for a cool down.

But some jobs have been done. I dug up 6 Tetrapanax pups, I got no root with the largest but have hope for the others. So all potted up and in a shady spot.

Also took cuttings from a couple of Penstemons.

Delighted that Kniphofia Tawny king is in bloom , he looks well in the hot bed.

Swim later , great.

Lavatera has gone mad this year and putting on a great show.

And please meet Roanda my Turtle, she is a large and lovely lady!!

Put up wrong picture , the one showing is myrtus lechleriana about which I have often spoken , magnificent scent. But it was of great interest to my recent visitors as it also looks rather good when the flowers have gone.

National survey!!

No not tennis but hardy Geraniums. Two of my favourites are G.plenum caeruleum and G.plenum violaceum.

Oh this weather is so great despite burning grass and lots of watering. Just back from a swim and the water was gorgeous no screams as one immersed the body. In Ireland no less!

Doing no gardening  except deadheading and watering.

The day draweth close.

The day draweth close.

The day draweth close.

Well the days of saying in 12, 9, 6 etc  weeks is my Open day are gone and now I can only say ,,,,,,,Next Sunday !

Am I scared?  Not as much as earlier on, it has dulled to apprehension.

A little consolation too as I have really done my best to have it looking good.

Must head to a garden centre tomorrow to get a few filler inners for where the poppies were.

But most importantly any iers who could make it would be so very welcome.  I know some are coming and that means a lot to me.
