Another lovely day really warm. All the same I confess to feeling a bit grumpy and fed up with endless weeding; three hours a day is pretty grim and even then there are plenty to be seen. BUT then I spotted that the Roscoea had pushed above ground and were looking really healthy and strong. So no more grumping. Then I saw a flower on Saruma henryi , don't know if you are familiar with this lad it is a wild ginger and related to Asarum thus the fiddling around with letters to make Saruma....can't think of the proper word to describe when this happens grrr. It flowers best later in the year and grows to about two feet and has lovely soft leaves. A woodland plant.

Finally Primula poissoni a rather dainty looking candleabra  but a lovely strong colour.

Happy accident

Lovely day here hope the same for everyone.

I just happened to plant some Iris in front of a Ligularia no colour scheme in mind. Then as the latter started to get tall and show the back of it's leaves  the iris decided to open with the same colour flower a lovely dark maroon.  Looks great especially when the breeze ruffles the leaves and really shows off the reverse side......yummy.

The first one is a lovely light green, an airy type of fern which seems to have had a couple of babies!

The black croziers on this one are wonderful but unsure of name.

Candleabra primulas, thanks Gracedieu, link up well with  the Thrift in my ''river'' area.

Very warm day here.....great.

When I posted about Aconitum being the earliest flowering perennial how could I have forgotten some of the hardy Geraniums , my first and lasting love !!  There are so many phaeums now it is hard to keep track of them but here are three. They are all large bushy plants not seen in photos. My favourite is lividum majus.

I had to hold the flowers due to the wind and rain!!!!

This is the first Perennial to bloom in my garden. I usually associate this plant with being  late flowering . No luck in trying to find a name so have posted in Plant ID as well.  Seems to spread in a controlled manner. Must collect seeds as it is a useful addition to the early Summer garden. As you know must be very careful handling this plant!!

I love saying........

I love saying........

I love saying........

Melanoselinum decipiens  don't know why the name just appeals to me and trips off the tongue!! Anyway it is in flower so I can revel  in telling anyone who cares to listen usually Meg and Maisie  that M.d is doing it's thing.  What a pity that it dies after the seeds are formed but there is one in waiting as a replacement so all will be well. The big leaves in front of photo are Senecio petasitis

It was actually warm today even the breeze, long may it last . Hope it was the same where you are.
