Saxifraga

You just got to admire this.I planted it last year and it has tripled in  size. It flowers for such a long time too

This morning i planted out mostly perennials

After lunch ,i edged a new border at the back of  the monolith composition

After dinner i fed all my daffodils and snow drops.I also watered the newly planted persicaria. This is planted on a steep bank and the soil is very dry..it will need to de watered on a regular basis until established

First thing this morning i was out in the garden.First on the list was to finish planting the persicaria that Rachel gave me.No one told me how difficult it is to plant on a steep bank and keep your balance aswell! When i finished this i had some left over, the remainder went on the edge of the raised bed.I gave it all a good watering in and stood back to admire my work.I thought of Rachel and how kind she is ,to go to the trouble of digging it all up.

Next i planted out the lychnis fire cracker ,also recieved from Rachel.I planted most of it in the raised bed.but a little went into the dodgy bed down by the gate.We will see how it will perform there!

After that i potted the beautiful auriculas (yes also from Rachel:)into clay pots and topped with grit.I repotted an orchid into a smaller pot as advised by the orchid queen hersef!

I started a lasagne bed on saturday, put a layer of cardboard topped with grass clippings. The entire contents of the compost bin was dumped on top.I had to get Sean to help with this as i was worried incase there would be mice!I covered it all with a sheet of black polythene and gave it a good stomping over.

The rain cleared in the afternoon,so i decided to get the sprayer out and spray the top of the steep bank at the back of the house. This area has been annoying me for sometime as the weeds seed down towards the ground cover .It was difficult to spray, keep my balance hold a sprayer and a lid from a polystrene box at the back of the plants. But i got it done eventually.

I am tired now but very happy with what i got done.Another list to be wrote up for tomorrow:)

Whos that  girl in my garden!

Rachel visited the windy south east this morning..

It was great to see her again and to give her a tour round my humble patch.

Thanks Rachel for taken the time to visit and also for the plants:)
