Hi All

Just putting up three photos. Can anyone give me the name of the ones I call "Molly's" These were given to me by an elderly neighbour now deceased many years ago when her cottage garden was covered with them. They self seed and pop up anywhere even in cracks in concrete! Everytime I see them I remember Molly Fleming who died aged 97 in 2006.

Shady Corner

Can anyone recommend some nice plants for a shady area/ This area gets some sun for a little while in the morning but generally its in the shade and I would love to brighten it up. The wall is on the North side so its sheltered from the worst of the cold winds but sun is a problem. I posted a photo of the area and would welcome suggestions. The wall had twenty years growth of Ivy removed today so is looking a little jaded! Thanks

Bird Boxes

I've had one bird box in back garden for years. Yesterday I decided to widen the opening as I had never seen any birds using it. Drilled 3 more holes to enlarge the existing opening. Then saw that roof needed replacing. When I had it removed I put my hand in to check if anything had deposited nesting material! Shock when small bird flew into my face when beating a hasty retreat. Then I discovered nest with eggs in the "empty" box. I quickly replaced top with a new lid and backed off. Thankfully this morning the parent Blue Tits are back in residences. Another bird box was quickly built and is now in the front lawn on a large sycamore.

Sowed some Spinach, Rocket & lettuce outdoors this evening even if it is a little cold. The earlier plants sown indoors are going fine and hopefully will be transplanted out in 2 weeks for an early crop. Got another border weeded today and reaqdy for some bedding plants (home grown) petunia, lobelia, aster and candytuft.

Gentleman on Tipp FM recommended Dicophar Spray for lawns to remove Dandelions and Daisies. Does anyone have experience of this herbicide?
