2pm today I decided I'd had enough of a sad bare looking 40 year old cherry tree. Out came the chainsaw and the rest is history . When we moved here in 1991it was only a baby so I suppose it lived it's life well . Don't think I will be planting another . The blossoms are lovelet but so short lived . Timber for the stove at least .

Experiment 15

17 June 2015 21:39:53

After I finished planting out the remaining grow house seedlings and potted on plants today i decided that the only plants I wanted in the grow house were tomatoes and peppers . This has been achieved apart from the 144 young Geums which are quiet happy it appears. The tray of Poppy seedlings have also been planted out in plugs about the place . Sink or swim now chaps you are on your own ! Eldest daughter arrived home with a nice pineapple to make some smoothies. I found myself regarding the leaves with interest . A little Googling says you can grow these from the crown so the experiment begins..... Twist. Off the leaves and suspend in a glass of water until roots appear. This could take a while ......

Majorca Lupin like plant

Majorca Lupin like plant

See how I managed to bring the sunshine back. From holidays everyone !! A weekes holiday in Majorca was a last minute deal arranged by my good wife and I fretted for days about the garden and grow house . Luckily a young neighbour came onboard and she must have green fingers. A weeks absence made me appreciate the garden all the more and I didn't lose one single plant or veg. You sure go notice more after a few days away . Iam thinking that we should allow a little more " freedom " for the plants sometimes ? Did I miss much ?
