Hive collected ... Bees required ... And a Summer too please. Hoping big brother will provide the Nuclei in April. That's a bee term for free bees I hope . Hope I've assembled it correctly not that it's going out in the garden yet . Photo upside down as I forgot to landscape iPhone for photo shot .

Yew or Taxus

Yew by Two

It may be strange to post a photo of a gravestone and two Yew's in a garden site but here goes. These two Yew shrubs have been ever present standing guard on my Dads and his family's grave in co kilkenny all my life . I managed to get some cuttings rooted after a number of falied attempts three years ago. They now reside in pots in co tipperary but are soooo slow growing !!! I know yew is slow growing and one of only two native conifers to Ireland, the other being Juniper. Will I ever have enough yew to make a proper " longbow" I wonder ??? Seriously though does anyone else have Yew growing ...   Or advice .... Or anything ?

Well actually it's a Cherry Tree from Aldi. My beloved even put some love Hearts on it . After 29 years marriage she's finally comming around to the idea that I prefer garden stuff to socks !! Success . Now dies anyone think these cherries will be a success in the garden . Mary loves Cherries but I hope she doesn't hold her breath , ha ha

Ventured out to move the tulips up away from the pup who has developed a liking for chewing anything that cannot get away . The sedum looks good, maybe the damp agrees with it ? The cordyline was saved from a wind felled parent when the stump developed sude shoots. Funny how nature provides a way .

Feeling Stuffed up

New boy Dog number 4

New boy Dog number 4

I just knew I had a cold comming on ... Went to bed early ( not like me ) slept badly and woke up feeling worse . Still as the day wore on I ventured out and voila , Two packets of Dahlis , Pompoms and Cactus got planted in containers. Spurred on I found new life and when the small gladioli cormlets magically appeared they too got planted . Got flowering in 2017 hopefully after growing on and storage next winter . Ventured into the veg garden to tie up the winter beans and then dug another few meters of ground. A little heavy still do finished by digging the remains parsnips . Felt much better after the two hours littering about . No pictures as phone was left indoors . So Iam posting a photo of new dog, Danny on the potting table ! That counts as gardening doesn't it ?? Upside down but what's new
