Hyacinth
The flower on the first of my two Hyacinths is opening up nicely. I t looks as if it will have a second flower lower down. My second one is a bit behind and the third one rotted even though I don't think it was touching the water.

I'm heading up north later on today -- I originally planned to go on Thurs --but my sister suggested I come sooner in case either of the airports was out of action. So I just want to wish everybody a very happy Christmas and safe travelling in these awful conditions.Talk to you all again next week hopefully.

Schlumbergera need light!
I've had a few of these for several years and they never flowered very well. Then I read somewhere (maybe on this site, if so thanks!) that they need light so I moved one to a good bright place and sure enough it has lots of buds and the others haven't .

I bet they're glad now..
When the Petunias blew down in the gale a while ago I put the bits that broke off into water. I bet they're glad they're nice and cosy in the kitchen, while their siblings have died of cold outside!

Viburnum bodnantense Dawn.
No fresh snow here today so I took the camera out to find any brave flowers showing their faces. I'll put up an album.
