i'm just wondering if there is anything i could plant now...i thought parsnip seeds were good to be sowed now but i'm not sure.
if there is anything else that could be sown i'd give it a go

well we've had 3 really nice days on the trot...it would really lift your spirits after the litany of bad weather-types we've had in the last 4 or 5 weeks.
i really hope 2010 will be a good year. the last year has been pretty dreadful on loads of levels...
*poor weather
*job losses
*wage cuts
*increase in health insurance
*the end of the celtic tiger
*the dublin diocese child abuse report
*seeing people get away with all the banking scandals
its kinda like we''re being punished for the "good times" of the Celtic tiger era"
here's to 2010!!

apologies to any 'ol wans reading this

starting young
this little girl loves reading...every night she loves cuddling up on the sofa looking up into your face waiting for "once upon a time.."
and today i came in from the shops and there she was with this months magazine in front of her.
no harm in starting young
well done to johnplotman on being featured

too early yet?
would you believe we had our 1st few snowflakes this morning. they didn't stick around long and its now just a few stray flakes falling
that got me to thinking should there be snowdrops up now or is it still a bit early. i suppose i really should have looked back into the archives before asking that question?

it was not unlike this
i got a local farmer to empty the septic tank for us on NY eve. he arrived just as i was on my way back from the Bring Centre with the xmas wrappings etc..when i drove up the road i could see the tractor with its 1600gallon tank perched on the lawn. what could i say. i hoped that when the tractor left there would be no tracks left but i am naive.
i got that kinda sick feeling in my stomach when he left and i was left frozen to the spot (almost literally!!) staring at my scarred lawn...and then my thoughts were brightened by the idea that all the sh1t (excuse the pun)of the last couple of years was gone and a new year beckoned

Danni??????????
what kind of flower would the judges on X factor be?
Cheryl Cole- old english rose(beautiful and alluring)
Louis Walsh- the flower of the privet (you wouldn't necessarily miss if it wasn't there)
Danni minogue- bouganvilla (exotic flower-difficult to survive in certain situations)
Simon Cowell- dandelion (persistant little bugger) (also his flat-topped hair kinda resembles the flower itself)

new shoots welcome 2010
isn't it great to see the new growth in the garden at this time of year when the Jack Frost is working overtime all over the country?
it would really lift your spirits
