another casualty to the frost, pembury blue i think....and you should see my roses, they are dreadful looking. some are dead and others are dead-looking. i've fed them and pruned them. maybe they will take off....

viburnum rhytidophyllum

a neighbour of mine had this plant when i was growing up and i always said to myself that i would hav one when i was "grown up", so when i saw it for sale at €21 in clonee garden centre about 5 years ago i bought it. its a great grower and makes a lovely dome shahpe full of beautiful leaves and covered in lovely rosettes of tiny flowers. it layers itself so i dug one up and put in down elsewhere in the garden a few weeks ago and so far it is still alive

gorgeous

kinda hard to see here but this tree is completely clothed in beautiful pinkish white flowers. its only down about 4 years and is so at home here..i'd go so far as to say it has grown better than any other tree in the garden. in late summer and autumn there is the most beautiful crimson fruit

half dead strawberry tree

arbutus

i'm disappointed that the whole centre of the arbutus which was doing so well was killed off by the frost. the whole outer part of the tree is still alive i hope but the main trunk is completely brown. not looking good
