Tomatoes
Took this picture the other day, after I put in the first of the tomatoes. I was very proud with myself in getting the in, and today I got the last of them in. nothing like your own home grown tomato, fresh from the vine, with a sprinkle of salt. Little things make me happy.

This is the way I grow the carrots in my garden, also grow the parsnips this way. The soil is just too sticky for the to grow in the normal manner. I wrote earlier in the year How I recycled the compost during the year, and added it into the veg bags. If the leaf is anything to go by, then I think I should have a great crop. I use the carrot seed on a tape and this saves me having to thin, and it makes it easier to sow them in the bag. I will sow twelve bags of carrots appox a month between each four bags of carrots sown. Hers hoping for a good crop.

the main crop
My apologies for my absence from the site. I have managed to log in an odd time to see what people were up to. I have spent most of my time working, writing assignments and getting abit done in the garden. I have to say I am further on than any other year, and I think I put that down to the good weather in April. The great stretch in the evenings are a great help.
I have the spuds in and they are puting in a great show. I managed to put in the last of the tomato plants today. I have 24 tomato plants in. I think next year I will attempt to grow my own plants from seed, and sure if I fail, there is always the backup of the garden centre.
