His master arrives home.

His master arrives home.

Waiting day by day for me at the exit gate,my four legged friend earlier this morning heard me call for him.I wish any crows the best of luck trying to touch the vegetables.Be it hail, rain,or snow, there he will sit until i return home.Almost back to good form thanks to the vet.

Some garden reading post.

Cucumber 2011,in the seed room.

With the Cucumber in the vegetable garden, they are not a bit fond of Potatoes. One reason especially because if grown near them, can attract a form of Phytophthora [Blight].What they do like in the garden are the likes of Peas and Beans[Legumens.]

New beds in place in the vegetable garden..

Five new beds in place.

Five new beds in place.

In this area a mixture of flowers, fruit, herbs, and vegetables will be used. Now that the compost heaps have been removed to another area that side of the garden will have a long Rhubarb bed.All started from roots of divided Rhubarb at splitting time.It will be imperative that water is watched upon, and they will get a liquid manure feed every 2 weeks or there abouts.Rhubarb [Rheum rhaponticum] will have one companion,Spinach. They get on well together.

Using grass clippings in the vegetable garden.

Using grass clippings.

Now that the first trim is over and all objects removed, any time the grass will be trimmed, some of it will be used in the veg garden against Potato scab. Not so much with the earlies but mainly the seconds and maincrop. When im sowing,a thin layer will be spread along the drill being used and this will help again them.Nothing serious, just a thin layer.Again the Comfrey herb will also be used as feeding.Should it not be large enough to place at sowing time for under drills with a tiny top layer clay on top first ,then it will be used alongside the drills.

In the Seed room late March 2011.

Almost ready for moving out.

Almost ready for moving out.

Had a check in the seed room late last night and all is going well. Some of the trays need moving on.Flowers fruit and vegetables are in use.Herbs will be worked on over the next 24 hrs.The Tomatoes [Lycopersicon esculentum] will be given the herb Comfrey used as feeding for them when the time arrives.

The herb Comfrey [N3 P0 and Potash 10] gives off a top Potash supply.

Time to attack the garden.

Earlier in the week.

Earlier in the week.

Forgive my late journal. Finally i will get to stay in the garden, until late hours over the weekend.I have been thinking over plans for the last few weeks. Some of the veg,in the tunnel have developed well.

Some more sowing needs doing there, and in a short while that will be on the list. Some of the beds in the outer area have started to give a little glimmer of life. The comfrey [Symphytum] beds have started, and in a short that will be used at the planting of some more of the Potatoes. It will also be used to make a liquid feed, along with Nettles.

The Rhubarb sections [parts of the roots] that were started earlier in the year, are all showing well.Hopefully after the vegetable garden i will be spending all tomorrow out working on the flower beds,Plans will be to companion plant some flowers, fruit and vegetables in some areas.Time to attack the garden.
