Looking back the other way..

I spent yesterday clearing out the Nicotiana and some other annuals from the new beds, they had become very shaggy and I am very pleased with how it looks now. The grass on the path took a bit of a hammering  but it will be ok...

Course update

23 September 2010 20:01:42

Hello everyone, well I have completed my first full week of the Amenity Horticulture course  that I am attending in Pearse Collage, and I have to say I am loving every second of it. We are doing so many interesting subjects, it is really hard to pick a favourite yet. The subjects include Nursery stock, Plant science. Soil science, Plant ID, Landscape Construction,Organic Production,Surveying and Communications. it sounds like a lot of subjects but a lot of them tie in with each other... We are going on a field trip next Tuesday, out to the Phoenix Park to St Marys Hospital to a project called " The Green Bubble"This is a garden created for the residents of the hospital and I am really looking forward to visiting and finding out more about it.I will be taking my camera  and will put some pic of the visit on here if anyone is interested....

We are off down to Roscommon tomorrow, I am looking forward to seeing what is happening in the garden, it has been 2 weeks since we were down, so I can imagine there will be a few changes..According to the weather forecast this evening the weekend is going to be dry and cold  just perfect for tidying up in the garden..
