Caught doing a bit of work

I am volunteering at Bloom this week... I have to go in there tomorrow with all the other volunteers and we will find out what we will be doing .. I know I am going to be there Thursday and perhaps Sat ..looking forward to it ...

Did a lot of planting out in Roscommon this weekend and I am knackered tonight..  Graham took this picture of me yesterday evening planting this little bed at the corner of the drive with yellow alyssum, the plants are still a little small, but I need the space in the greenhouse... I am delighted with the garden right now lots of lupins which are doing really well this year......

The black kale  that I got from Deborah has been attacked by the cabbage root fly as well as all our cabbage.. I lifted them and washed the roots that were left on them and I have them planted in a pot so I am hoping that they will be ok

Had wonderful day yesterday,we went first to the Delta Sensory Gardens in Strawhall Carlow, and what a wonderful place it is, well worth a visit if you are in the area.We then went on to Altamont gardens, I loved the place .. I think I must have lived in one of these big houses and gardens in a formar life, because I always feel completely at home when I visit them ... :) They have a plant sale area and of course I had to buy some plants ....

Lychnis Flos-cuculi " White robin "

 Polemonium caerulea " Brise d'anjou"

Acaena saccaticupula " Blue Haze"

Ligularia dentata " Britt-Marie Crawford

also got some bedding dahlias and some creeping Jenny for the tumbling pots.I have started putting up an album, but the internet is very slow here in Roscommon tonight so I will complete it when I go back tomorrow night

Pond 7th May

While working in Farmleigh I got to use a Oscillating hoe.I have to say it is the best hoe I have ever used. I had never seen one before, and was told that I would have to order it from Fruit Hill Farm which is what I did . It arrived last week, and last Saturday I got rid of all the weeds in my beds in record time, and because it had a extra long handle I had no backache when I was finished...
