That is what you call a blade

That is what you call a blade

We have a hedge running along the west side of the garden and we have trimmed it back a few times but it never got a really good cut back until yesterday. Our neighbour who owns the field backing our garden had a guy in cutting all his other hedges and he also cut the one that divides our garden and his field. It took him about 10 mins and what a job,it looks great and the amount of light in our garden now ... I am delighted with it.. I took some pics if anyone wants a look .....

Good weeks work

My friend for the week

My friend for the week

I was on mid term break this last week, and Graham was able to work from home so we spent the week in Roscommon. I spent the best part of every day in the garden, and when it rained I was in the glass house .. I was in heaven as I only get to spend weekends down there and the time goes in so fast. The big bonus for me was that the frogs decided to come to visit this week as well.. I managed to get some good video of them today.. Everything is coming on really well in the garden, all the beds are now weeded and looking well. Graham moved the raised beds to give us more room in the veg area. I sowed some seeds. Planted 2 standard cherry blossom. a pear tree, a purple buddleia, Sarcococca. Moved some rosa rugosa hedging. Pruned the dogwood. Planted 8 corkscrew willows along the drive, they are still small but should look nice in a year or two. There were lots of other jobs done but I will not bore  everyone with the details.. I will put some pics in a Feb album
