Greenhouse!

  Todays work for me was,turn on my glasshouse in greenhouse for my orchids.So i toke green net and cover glasshouse's roof with it.Now i have nice shady place,protected from winds for my houseplants.Hope they will fell there good,if not will move them back.And think,that my little seedlings too will fell better there protected from sun,same like cuttings.

   When finish it,i made room for my princess and move them in.Left in house only mini orchids and phalaenopsis.Repoted my Aeoniums,and they now too in greenhouse,except llittle one,what i got from Rachel,it will move there later.

  What more...poting,repoting,planting,weeding,feeding...i think you know all this gardening things.Oh,yes i ordered for tonight rain,,was to lazy water big flower beds:))

It is my first rose with flowering now.It was very close going to compost box...but it surprised me this year,now it all is full with flower buds.

Tonight i finish repotted my Heucheras sanguinea's.I see i have them little bit to much.So. if someone  want it let me know,i will put your name in list,for next meeting/plant swap.

   Soon i will know whit plants i can give away,so watch out,maybe you see something good for you.

  What a beautiful morning!!! Get up at 7,made up a caffee,then went open winow to glasshouse,check there flower pots and seed trays.Watered what need it,and went look around flower beds.Its great to see how plants look well and lively after so good watering from sky.All new planted atlast look like plants,not like half dry grass.Funnyest,,i was very busy day before,all evening watering all beds,and pots,and then after coulpe hours come rain,,he,he.

How did i grow Romneya Coulteri from seeds.

  Last year in my wish list was Romneya,i was looking for it everywhere.All what i did find was in UK nurserys,but they do not send them over,,sad...Then i start look for seeds,it too wasn't easy.Atlast i find them,one was fro T&M,,other Mr.Fotherhill's seeds.I ordered them from Mr.F. On seed pack was info,how to sow them: 2 weeks room temp.then if nothing happen,,in fridge,after out,and then wait,wait....I did like wrote there,and still waiting.

  Of course,i can't wait,,while 1th was in fridge,i order next pack of seeds.This time i wanted try 2th way-smoke stratification.I finded in internet all info,and did it.

   It wasn't easy,and i thinking that i did all wrong, left my seed jar,in big shed.After couple days,i change my mind,and move it in greenhouse.How big was my surprise,that after 3 weeks(like was in info from net) i saw first little leaves,i was thinking it is weeds,,or what...But now,when i have my own big Romneya(thanks Rachel,for showing me it),i know they are Romneya seedlings.

   So,wish me luck:)))!!!!

  I do know,that i got this little hardy geranium at first garden.ie meeting,in Belvedere.But who give it to me,,,i can't remeber,,sorry.But it is so simple,and so beautiful,i just want say thanks for it!!!

  I sowed them in 13.02.10.There i have yellow alpine strawberrieys 'Yellow cream' and strawberrieys 'Temptation' .Some of them already have flower buds.My kids just love 'Yellow cream',they taste like wild strawberries,but bit bigger.

   When you sow strawberryies,do not cover seeds,them need light for germination.

  Normaly i spending my evenings outside,coming in after 8,or 9.Tonight i went in 7.25p.m made tea,and sat down...all ,,and do not move while all programms about flower show was over.

   So many beautiful flowers...them orange iris and yellow verbascum,what was there in screen every 5 min.,,,or foxglowes.Nepenthes and pelargoniums...Rachel,,did you see them big Protea's ?Can't belive that ours some day will be same...:))And some great tips what i heard tonight,hope i won't forget them.

  What more...today did not to much,water all new planted plants,repot one fuchsia,had to sow,,but didn't had time,,,went to watch TV.

Yesterday,25.may.

New pelargonium in flower.

   All evening busy in garden.Finish cut grass in kids play area.Then watering all new planted plants,then start fill some gaps in front border.I start think how much money it would cost to me,if i had to bay all them plants.Glad when i grow them my self.Planted some perenials,and Livingstone Dasys,with coming in flowers in this stage.

  Moved some plants out from greenhouse,to hot there in day time.Little seedlings I still keep under garden fleece,to protect them from sun.

  My new fuchisas growing flower buds,must be next week i will see them in flowers.Can't wait it!

  Almost all pelargonums now flowering,only my black geranium growing new leaves,but i'm glad it is alive after last winter.

   Starwberrys full with flowers,and some alreday have nice berrys,hope after couple weeks could make my own strwbery pavalowa:))

Yesterday we went to Listokes garden.There i first time saw Dove tree( Davidia involucrata) in life.There was small tree in bloom.Wow!!!I was sitting under this tree and wondering,about mother's natures beautiful work.There is not just beautiful flowers,they have wonderful parfume  too.I have couple seeds of this wonderful tree,but i know very soon i will go to Johnstow g/c and bring it home:)Of,course if i wont find it somwhere closer.

p.s.after Alisons coment,i don't know what is it.,but i know i need it.

Orchard.

If you can call 10 fruit trees for orchard.Then i have it:))My friend form LV send me over parcel,with fruit trees,so i got them last Saturday,soaked them in water,they was in way for 3 days.And today atlast i had chanse plant them out.To some aplle trees was flower buds,i picked them out,i want them grow this year.Then next year if all will be ok,let them flowering.

  I don't have picture with my orchard,,because they still look like a little sticks,but i do have picture with my garden azalia ,last year i was thinking it is gone,but then after week,i looked at it ,and-there you're,it flowering.This year it make me happy and flowering again.

I bought it last year,in Johnstown g/c.It have just one single flower,but is so beautiful(i think)love colour,like sunset.

    We toke today day of,from all  garden and house works.All week we work really hard,and yesterday just start fell very tired.So,this morning,we did all necessary works,like watering and all others,whith you have to do,and went away,to Co.Westmeath,to Tullynally castle and garden.Thats was rest to mind and hands,really.We just keep busy our legs,and went for long,long walk.Magnolias was almost finished  flowering,but still was full blooms,and in forest still were camelias in flowers.All big,old trees,they was like coloured in different colours,pale green,dark green,red,and brown,yellow...giant snowdrops,scented rhododendrons,scunks cabbages,ferns,,giant lilies..and warm spring air,,wonderful!

 It is little seedling of Pelargonium endlicherianum(Turkish pelargonium).I got seed pack,where was 3 seeds,and got one plant.Of course i wuold love all 3,but one is more like nothing.Today i watering my plants in glasshouse,and made a closer look at it.And look at top of pot,maybe you see thats little thing on roots/stem,with look like bulb.Funny:))I hope it is normally.

   It is my new stellar geranium,from Vernons nursery.Yesterday it opened first buds,i think it will be very nice.

Plaits.

Do you know what to do with daffodils leaves after flowering?You know,you can't them cut back,because you want good flowering next year.So what to do,because it won't look very pretty after while.I do like this,,i to put them in plaits.It look better,and i can plant there annuals.Maybe someone see it usefull.

Today i dragged all my familly to Plant Fair,he,he.Bad,bad me...I really enjoyed day.I met Jacina,,first i saw Steve,and Steve's parents,i met  Deborah and Martin,for first time,and there i met Bill too.Alison with her little beautiful girl.Was happy to see Krista and her dad and  little angel,who now is my friend too:)I met one more garden.ie friend,but i'm very sorry i can't remeber her name.

    I was hunting for Rachel(she had orchid for me:)),Liam said he saw her,after my first run,,but we met at 3th circle what i made around all stands.Thanks to Rachel,she showed me where she got it, i got Romneya what i was looking for ages.And thanks to her,i have some new house plants too:))

I did little today.Poted up some seedlings of perennials,one of trays again emty.Starwberrys form seeds was growing very good,Kids willl be happy for it.They love my "Yellow cream"berrys:)

   Repoted my fuchisas,with start grow now very fast.Can't wait when weather will be better,and can them put out.Today was so cold wind,didn't want do anything out side.

  Went to Woodies today,get some things for garden,didn't want get any plant,but of course,,,one more nice orange pelargonium in glasshouse :)

  Hope see some of you tommorow:))If not ,have a nice time anywhere where you are!!!

Accident...

Paphiopedilum godefroyae almost open.

  If you remeber,i told you about my new orchid,what i got at orchid fair,in Botanic garden.So was waiting when little bud will open and i can show it to you all.Its was nice blooming 2 days,i wanted to take picture.But my camera needed new batterys,when i got them,was to late,,flower was broken off...I don't know how to tell you,how i was felt then:(And nobody tuched it...it is strange...

Spring rush!

Seedling wait for pots.

Hello to all!Again week over,after my last entry.If won't be rain,i would be out somewhere.Happy to see how plants, what i thought will die ,recover and grow new shoots,like callistemon and latern tree(crinodendron hookerianum) it lost "laterns",but grow.Last year i planted little seedlings of helleborus,my pup and cat dancing on them..but now it grow new leaves,and look like will be ok.

   All seed trays from fridge,now for while is in glasshouse,and some of them is germinate,for my joy,some still not,but..it take time.Not one of cimicifugas what i sowed is germinate jet,can't wait for them.

  Rachel was so kind and sent me some arisaema seeds,from all ,right now 4 is up,better like others,with i sowded much earlyer. Mairin's Angelica too show me little fat leaves.All plants what i got in last meeting in Belvedere look good,and some already is in new flower bed.

   Yesterday got some more seeds,and some last week,,,so have to find time and sow them too.Cucumbers,corgettes,and sqash too wait for seed tray...

  Seedlings waiting for pots..ah ,,,now i would love be like octopus,,with some 8 arms ...
