Not much done in the garden !
One of my 10 sisters is here on a visit from New Oreleans for the past 2 weeks and we are just having a ball every evening in each others house and eating drinking telling tales from the past and wait for it there are 5 sisters more to catch up on , so the garden is taking a back seat but am realy enjoying the fun and chat , poor Greg is out numbered as he has only 2 brothers and one of my sisters is married to one of them but he knows at this stage what to expect when we get together, laughter, jokes, stories from old etc.
It is now 1 45 am and had to check in as I had 12 emails from Family and friends to answer so had a look again in on all your Journals but am way to tired to comment. Am sure some of you might know what I mean but if not excuse me but Family come first.
Ah the photo is cropped....

Leycesteria Formosa
OMG I dont believe what I have been doing for the past few hours reading all the Journals and then flicking to see all the photos it was better than any film I just went from one to the other , Brilliant ! every one photo so different from each and when I got to the end of a few I was amazed to see so much colour in the 3 gardens I am not finished yet ..
I am not going into each one to comment.
Bruno you are a dark horse so neat and such lush planting.
Hosta it was like a book I did not want the book to end....
Tera Nova I have been there but at this time of the year it is just Magic...
Now I dont know what photo to use but my Sister called over the weekend with cuttings of the plant above asking me to try and get it to grow and I said I had not got a clue how to do it and she said you got the Wisteria to take 2 years ago so I am giving it a bash wish me luck

Visit to Killruddery Gardens
We went to visit these gardens so many times over the past few years and found them so beautiful, but this time they have lost the plot .... very little flowers and no service as we paid to see the house and no body to show us so we had to wait until 4 pm so we skipped it as it would have been a 2 hour wait not happy , but the lady who had her friend in a wheelchair spoke for us all she was so mad as she had come from Tipperary.
The concerts have taken over... with all toilets all in a row around the gardens spoils any photo, a big area in front of this beautiful house with plastic seats in rows and a huge stage area for the concert covered in plastic, no cover at all for concert goers
Ok Clare got it of my chest a sham.
It should stay closed until all the concerts are over. this weekend Brian Ferry and Colm Wilkinson on Friday and Sunday

Garden was as full of people as this but beautiful.
Today I went to this beautiful garden in Shankill, it is a very full garden and so many areas it was worth a visit , so many people that the cars had to park in a pub a good walk away . It was very well organised a plant sale inside the gate and tea and coffee plus plenty of goodies all homemade . I meet Myrtle and Don and another friend of mine and her Mother in law but had not much time as we were going to Gorey but a lovely garden so full, I wish I could get there when there is a smaller crowd.
Some photos, only some as I got poked in the eye trying to get a photo and that will tell you the volume of people and fair play to Carmel all the money goes to Blackrock Hospice , also there was a plant sale I only got 1 plant it is a Pentsmon I think.,
10 August 2011 23:22:43

Grew this lobelia from seed and its a curse as it is like dust but I dont do to much seeds and just had to do this one it takes an age to come as plants but I still like it .....

Job satisfaction
My Sister has not been well for some time and Greg and myself have been at her side for the last few years as she lost her beautiful son to SADS after a game of football on a Astra turf pitch up at the top of my road and my son was his buddy and they played every Monday night and then went to one of the players house to shower and look at a Dvd.
It has been hard for her but not easy on us or our Son so now she has started to live a little and take interest in a few little things and the garden was the first sign of normality and of course I was ready to lend a helping hand so poor Greg was roped in and we have just done a make over of her back garden, she was out there with us scrubbing and clearing all the dirt of the decking and we took around the powerwasher and got it cleaned and then she decided to go to a garden center and with help from me picked plants she liked . Then decided to cut away part of the decking and put in a new garden so here is the garden and heres to a new Sister now she wants to start on the front so we will be there with our hands to help .........
Richard was 6 ft 4" and so full of life 27 years old and now Garden.ie has given me the umph to help thanks to you all.

Bougainvillea
We were in Spain 2 years ago and I took a cutting of this Bougainvillea and did not think it would survive but I had it in the house until this Summer and I put it in the glasshouse in May and it has realy come on so well so I will take it back in to the house when it changes again to being cold in the glasshouse, love its colour and so like paper on the petals.
