my garden was, parden the pun, buzzing with bees all summer, except the honeybee which i seen today in my garden, hence the picture, i was happy to have him visit. did any of you notice were their many in your garden this season? their talking of introducing the new zealand buff tailed bee in the uk and ireland. but the honey bee is in real trouble in the wild.

what a day!

13 September 2009 21:24:34
what a beautiful day! just to sit in the arbour reading the sunday paper, water gurgling away, the waft of lily scent in the air now and then, the buzz of the bees doing what bees do!, a painted lady lighting on the paper to bask in the sun and you freeze so as not to frighten it away, hoover flies darting around you as you read, the silence of the early morning as the garden reflects the love and endeaver you put in its conseption......the perfect morning, for me.

verbena/red admiral.

verbena/red admiral.

i planted all my spring bulbs today, about 60 in total and i need a lot more. i have to shoehorn everything in, too much is not enough! the bees and butterflies were out in force on the verbena, purple candle and seedem, this weather reminds me of days gone by, you got this type of weather most septembers, i remember my dad always took his holidays at this time because you were fairly sure of good days. i really enjoyed today in the garden with lots of pictures taken as usual.
