Four Seasons Statues.

Four Seasons Statues.

This morning I was in town and decided to visit our local auction house for a view of the items that are up for auction on Monday next. To my surprise I came upon Scrubber's double and his three companions. Painted a terrible red/orange colour by someone, but a three hundred estimate makes them expensive, so they will not be moving to Gracedieu.

A reminder that Gardener's World is back at 9.30 tonight. There is a visit to Wisley Gardens and Hyde Hall, two RHS gardens. One not to miss.

Time to start looking out for the spring bulbs as they come into garden centres and shops around the country in the next few weeks. Here are a few photos of different containers in which to plant up your purchases. The photos are from this years Keukenhoff, which we visited last May.

A few photos of Wollerton Old Hall, a garden we visited during our very short holiday. I am using an iPad so can only put three photos up each time.

Just realised that today is August 1st. Where has the summer gone? It seems only a few weeks ago that we had our Charity Day.

We were on holidays last week in Chester in England and only managed to visit one garden, because we had a bit of  a disaster, but everything is OK now.   We visited Wollerton Old Hall near Market Drayton in Shropshire, which is a private garden and only opens twice a week. The garden is made up of a number of garden rooms, each with its own theme. The garden is "Arts and Crafts" in style with beautiful plantings of perennials and roses.  The colour combinations are just to die for. Using an iPad so will put up a few journals of photos.
