Can any garden be complete without Acer griseum; I do not think so. Its beautiful and peeling bark throughout the year is wonderful to behold and its autumn colour stands alone

This heap was behind another so that it all had to be sieved and carried out over the other one. All ready now for the winter cut back.

I underestimated this plant, I thought that it was something to powerwash off and now I love it. It is great to mature and learn to appreciate the beauty that is there.

This is a polypodium that I found growing on a wall of an old falling down cottage. I brought it home some fifteen years ago and it has grown happily in our garden ever since
