A waiting game
For whom do the bells toll? I think for the tree ferns, but I wait and watch. Oh happy St. George's day to you lot, hope that it was good for you.
22 April 2010 13:23:26
I did not take this sunset shot as my telephoto lense is not up to much, but this is what it looked like
21 April 2010 22:42:35
I must confess that I did not take this photo, but it is of the volcano in Iceland and it could drop ash on our gardens
21 April 2010 20:35:02
This was the sun disappearing behind Deb's polytunnel at 8.15, it is still broad daylight here now.
19 April 2010 21:15:42
Sunset tonight in Dromin
Taken from our garden once more
18 April 2010 22:04:43
Tulips turned down
Seeing as you are clambouring to see the tulip heads maintaining a certain height above the soil, I will show it now.
18 April 2010 22:00:23
These tulips like to be the height that they are, last year we put them in a two feet tall pot and the next day they hung down to six inches below the rim and turned up again. I can show you a picture of this later if you all want me too.
18 April 2010 21:51:46
Note Venus in the sunset shot that I took this evening, I have just come in from the garden now, were any of you in before me?
17 April 2010 23:41:02
Plant sale last weekend
this was our stall last sunday at foto before the customers ravaged it leaving only cash behind them.
17 April 2010 21:45:29
I don't want to appear a bit of a bore, but just look at how amazing the sun looked this evening.
17 April 2010 13:42:38
I have just taken this picture of a fox in the rough ground behind our garden, thought that you might like to see it.
16 April 2010 21:40:46
Well it is the same sort of colour. Sorry but if I put down the title Sunset then you might not have looked. all the best from Marty
15 April 2010 23:37:27
Working on my vegetable garden today, weeding and adding dung it is now ready for sowing.
14 April 2010 21:59:57
Here is me next to some of the tree ferns that may well be dead, in a bed that has lost much.
14 April 2010 21:56:17
Here is another spring shot, wonderful indeed after the harsh winter behind us.
13 April 2010 22:12:33
Garden shot, not a sunset
again the roses in the background waiting for their time to shine.
13 April 2010 22:08:26
Are we still showing each other sunsets still, or have I overshot the mark :-)
12 April 2010 10:30:09
Out in the blazing sun all day selling plants in Foto. Not feeling right today at all. The lady beside us could not have sold much as her selling technique was not good considering the amount of competition. She told me that she was putting on sunglasses so that no one would know when she nodded off!!!!
10 April 2010 22:28:20
Yellow flowering tree
This a beauty that shows itself at this time of year, it is beautiful but the frosts can damage the flowers
10 April 2010 21:26:58
Fleeting White Flowers
Hi again, this is a fleeting thing, all over in 2 weeks but worth the wait. (get your pen out Fran) Sanguinaria canadensis flore pleno.
10 April 2010 15:56:16
Here is a shot of our pergola today, long before the roses shine out.
09 April 2010 20:38:40
I took a shot this evening of one of our magnolias, which gives us a good show every year.
08 April 2010 22:22:53
Here is a picture that I took today of our skunk cabbage coming into growth, it will be three feet tall when it is fully grown, but there will be no flowers then.
07 April 2010 08:48:48
I believe that the sky is part of the garden. Here is venus on the left and Mercury on the right. Photo taken last friday
05 April 2010 20:32:48
In two months time I hope it will all look like this again, with the winter long forgotten.
05 April 2010 18:39:47
I think that we have lost a lot of frogs this winter in Ireland. Look after you spawn.
05 April 2010 09:13:54
Another perfect day
Bank holiday, fair weather, my youth and a garden before me.
04 April 2010 21:18:58

04 April 2010 21:11:20
Here is Billy Begs pondering on the loss of his wife who disappeared some years ago.
04 April 2010 19:53:33
I fixed the marine pump at the base of the grindle, a ghastly business diving down to remove a worm that was caught in the impeller. Well I chickened out of the diving in and bailed it out first instead, but I still had to remover the worm.
04 April 2010 19:48:45
We have it cushy over in Limerick so I got out the old sprinkler to water in the ferns.
04 April 2010 13:22:08
Ferns and primroses
Here is the picture of the 55 ferns and many primroses planted in the new beds either side of the newly raised lawn. Not much to see as nearly all of them are still dormant, hopefully the shot that I put up in a few months will knock your socks off. :-)
04 April 2010 08:37:38
Thank goodness for Vegan easter eggs. I shall devour this one for breakfast and get out into the garden. Happy one you lot. :-)
03 April 2010 21:40:12
I have now put the Oak seat in place, any of you who are my friends are welcome to come and sit on it and have a cup of tea with me. I planted 55 ferns today, will put up a picture when they come into growth.
03 April 2010 08:38:34
Our grindle seems to be flooded. It seems to rain at night here and be dry during the day. Minus 1.1 last night
02 April 2010 23:21:33
I was really enjoying the garden experience this evening and again the sun went down on me, but the evening are getting longer and we have it all before us.
02 April 2010 22:47:04
A cure for blanket weed
If you overpopulate your pond with fish then they will eat all the blanket weed. Our other pond nearby has only 6 fish and we have to haul the stuff out every day. The pond in the picture that I took today started off with 6 fish and I have even given hundreds of them away and yet it is always full of them.
01 April 2010 21:19:24
A beautiful evening in the garden, mild and marvellous, then alas the sun decided to go down.
