Wisteria
Growing on the gable of our house

Yay
This is variegated horse raddish as Rachel pointed out in a recent garden shot; but it is not this that I am yaying about. The credit card company has reclaimed my money for the camera that did not arrive. :-)

Garden shot
Took this as the light started to go down, and just before it started to rain. Big open day at Terra Nova, beautiful day, 12 visitors :-) Helen Dillon would probably get that many on a stormy day that she was closed.

Damsel flies
Damsel flies on a water lily today.

Yay
What a lovely day in the garden. The sun shining all day, a fresh breeze to cool one down and no flies about, and the whole place to myself for the day. Yay and yay again :-)

Ballast
These stones were ballast in a ship stuck on some rocks, over a hundred years ago, they were thrown out and the ship got free. This was on the north coast of Co. Donegal. Now they are used to stop people driving through the border. I ought to organise a garden dot ie ballast hunting expedition to compass bearing north and pick up Conrad on the way. Yay. :-)

Araiostegia parvipinnata
Due to the clamouring of the populace, I have put up this pic of the thin and numerous legs of Araiostegia parvipinnata. I originaly put up a pic of this several days ago. I bought it off Crug farm and cannot find it in my reference books.

Araiostegia parvipinnata
I was trying to take a close up in the garden but it is such a fine fern that it kept moving so I nipped off a tip and took it into the house and laid it on white paper so that I could share it with you good people. It is a lovely gently spreading fern, rare and wonderful standing on a lot of thin legs. If anyone wants to see the thin legs then let me know, if you do not want to see the thin legs then keep it to yourself please. :-)

Beach
This is our beach, photo taken in 2D while the tide was out. Unfortunately I cannot have a dip once more as I had a recent garden visitor who is well known for his antics in that direction.

Yay and yay again
Took a quick snap at this plant growing in our side garden which we call the woodland walk. We have a name for all the areas of our garden, so that when deb and I discuss anything garden related, then we know exactly what we are talking about.
17 May 2012 23:40:28

Orchid
This is a tiny plant, each orchid flower less than and inch long

Scrutiny
It is that time of year again, all hands to the pumps. :-)
17 May 2012 14:40:45

Balloons
Nothing to do with me, Fran or Bruno, just a happy scene in the garden :-)
17 May 2012 14:37:17

Here is a book that can cure 99per cent of ailments easily. You can order it off Amazon. Good luck Mary :-)

Rosa ... ......
A good prize to the winner. The first person to say what the name of this rose is that is opening in our garden today. Only one guess allowed.

Helen Dillon's plant
Helen Dillon is coming to nearby tomorrow and so I am going to give her the plant that she left behind at Angela Jupes. Alas it is flowering and this is one of those plants that die once it has flowered :-((

Little dog
Ha, this is the end of a frond unfurling. Polystichum setiferum 'Rotundatum cristatum'
09 May 2012 22:24:36

Royal Fern
This is the Royal fern unfurling a frond or two. This fern likes it damp and can easily grow to 6 feet high and I have seen growing to 9 feet high.
09 May 2012 13:36:55

Just took this with my new canon 550d. Ha!

I miss that guy around the place

New raised bed 2
I used the last of the home made compost to fill the new vegetable beds.
06 May 2012 21:46:30

New raised bed
Hi there friends. We never seem to have a place to plant vegetables so here goes, I constructed a raised bed out of three pieces of 9inch by two inch by 20 feet long timber for rafters

Fran thinking that I had not aged much
I had a wonderful visit from a great guy today. Thanks for that Fran :-)

Swallow
It is lovely to have these fellows back, this one looks in at me from his perch on the wisteria and seems to say, "Martin my dear you haven't aged one bit". :-))
