I've Been Busy

I've Been Busy

I've Been Busy

Yes, I've been busy and missed a whole load of journals. I see so many conversations going on that I have missed.

I have been busy in the garden, videoing (my channel now has over 300 subscribers) and there were a few garden visits made too. Last weekend I was at the Botanic Gardens with Liga and her daughter, Niki. I think this photo sums up the day well :)

The weather is nasty. But possibly it only seems that way because it has been so glorious.

Here's a video I put up recently, which may be of interest.

New Disa Orchids & Australian Bush

Here's a little video about some new orchids I managed to get and a photo of some pressies a friend in Australia sent me.

The littke boxes are made from banksia seed heads and filled with eucalyptus oil. She says it smells like the Australian bush. I can't vouch for that but It smells great :)

I had stopped putting links to my YouTube orchid videos on garden.ie because I didn't think there was any interest from this site in them.

However, I just got a message from Kristina to say that she can't follow the links on FB or YouTube, because of her phono setting, so could I put them up on garden.ie.

So here they are, Kristina :D ...

Streptocarpus Looking Good

Here are three streptocarpus that are looking good right now.

The first is Dibley's 'Harlequin Lace', a fabulous plant that originally switched me to love these plants.

The second is a Polish variety, called 'Cynamon', which caused quite a stir when it first appreared because of its unusual colours.

The third is one of the Russian/Ukranian hybrids, 'DS-Good Mood', a large, blue double with intricate netting. These Dimetris streps are creating quite a buzz in the world of streptocholics.

I will have a selection of unusual streptocarpus for sale in FOTA next weekend if anyone is in the neighbourhood.

Glorious Weather

Glorious Weather

The weather is just fantastic. We've had dinner in the garden two days now and I could get used to that really quickly!

I uploaded some photos. Like Mary, they take so bloomin long, it tends to go on the long finger!

I hope to go to the Alpine Show on Saturday . To tell the truth, I just don't feel up to it at the moment but I know I would enjoy it a whole lot if I made the effort!

I managed to get some 'orchid supplies' in Enniscorthy today - large half clay pots and large reptile bark. When I got home I put my first cattleya in a hanging basket. When the windowsills fill up it's time to move upwards!

I'm off now to watch Beechdale on TV. I hope you are all enjoying the weather.

Mary recently put up some lovely photos of corydalis.

I also grow Corydalis solida and find it very good in my dry soil.

I bought a job lot of small bulbs from a Lithuanian nursery a few years ago and so I have lots.

I find some of the pinks can be wishy washy but there are a lot of great colours.
