Open Days

While it is a little early yet, I thought I would let you know of my planned open days this summer.

Douentza will open in conjunction with Philip Hollwey's Wexford garden on Saturday 2nd and Sunday 3rd July. Douentza is featured in the Irish Garden 'Open Gardens booklet' that came with the May magazine. And Philip Hollwey's garden will be featured in the June issue of the magazine. Hope to see lots of you there.

Douentza also opens to groups by appointment.

Causing quite a stir here at the moment, the dead horse arum.

Of course it was the one day that we didn't open the greenhouse early that this one decided to bloom. Norman went to open up and all I could hear was yells and cursing. Because the smell of this thing is, well, like a dead horse.

It is an amazing aroid, with detail reminiscent of the most exotic of plants. I am delighted with it and hope to continue to grow it for many years.

A video will follow soon.

Spring Rejuvenation of Pelargoniums

Well, it was another rainy day so of course I had to head out to make a video on pellies in the rain.

You might ask, why not do it in the greenhouse? Well, that would only have made a mess!

Anyway, here's a useful tip for those with pellies that have gotten a bit leggy...

Dividing Primroses, with a Cold, Assisted by Slugs

Catchy title, eh?

But it is exactly what I was doing this week. Except I was assisted by rain and hail too, they just wouldn't fit in the journal title.

Anyway, here's the vid...

There are currently eight reviews but I would love a few more so, if you read and enjoyed the book, please put up just a line or two! Thank you.

Oh and, of course, a few more sales would be great too :)
