Mysterious Mother Nature
Funny how plants that I thought were as tough as old boots have been killed by the "big freeze" but one, which I thought would have been one of the most tender in my garden has not only survived but is covered in new buds. This is my Kiwi - Not for one single moment did I think it would ever come back - but there you go!!! What do I know???? Nothing obviously!!!!!

Camellia
At last!!!!! It is begining to look like Spring in the garden. My Camellia has started flowering - a sure sign!!!! I spent yesterday out there doing some planting. I planted out my tree peony and some hollyhocks, border phlox and loads of summer flowering bulbs. It feels great to get started!!! Tom planted some peas in the veggie plot. Fingers crossed for them all!!!! Now we will really get to see what survived the icy winter. Found what looks like a couple of flower buds on my Magnolia - yippee. Will put up photos later. Have to go now - No.1 son is in the Irish Youth Music Awards today so we are off to that!!!

Tree peony
Is it just around here or is everybodies grass looking sick and yellow??? Everywhere I look the grass looks sick!!! I think it must be because of the continual freezing and thawing!!! It would seem that the shorter it was the worse it is - so mine is by means the worst in the neighbourhood!!
Am putting up a picture of my new Tree Peony Feng Dan Bai. 15 -20cm diameter flowers!! Can't wait!!! Just have to figure out where to put it now?????

Feng Dan Bai
Happy Mothers Day to all my gardening friends!!! I got a beautiful Tree Peony from my eldest !!!! I cant wait to plant it but am holding back as I think the soil may be a bit cold yet. I had found my very first daf in bloom today but as it was such a good day I decided that something had to be done to clean up the deck. It was a mess and covered in green which made it very slippy when it got wet. So we moved everything on to the lawn - swept it down and then got the Power Washer out. It looks so much bettter. Had to peel off my clothes after as I was soaked to the skin!!! And freezing!!! During the big clean up, my one and only daf in bloom got battered by the power hose!!! Sods law!!!!!
