Rock Rose
Nothing done in the garden today as we have a guest. Just had a little wander around and took some photos of whatever caught my eye.
This is my rock rose which has just started to bloom. Half of it was killed in the cold weather. So I am very pleased to see it bloom with so many buds to come yet!
Will put up a few photos!!

Did what I was told....
and dug up the tree peony. It is in a sorry state. Planted it up in a large pot with a mixture of homemde compost and shop bought. Fed and watered it. Fingers crossed that it will recover!!! Was disapointed yester that it didn't show any signs of looking any better but I guess in 24hrs - well maybe that was expecting a bit much!!!! :)
Potted on my beans from Flitters - dont know the name but seemingly they are grown for their flowers!! They are romping along like - well Beans :)
Got a new Rosemary shrub too and it was badly in need of re-potting. Also potted on Chilli plants and peppers. Not chancing putting them out yet. Lost some already - over eager husband !!!Cucumber plants look good strong and healthy!!
Weather forcast not good for weekend but is supposed to be back up to low 20's by Wednesday - and I finish work on Wednesday for the Summer break so bring it on!!!

On the negitive side:

Good Morning Sunshine!!!
What a beautiful morning. Had my early morning coffee sitting under the arch at the end of the garden in the sun, planning my day. Even the most reluctant gardener would be inspired today. Me I have so much work to do that it is just not funny. But am off now to start. Noticed my Clematis Romantica has just started to bloom. There are loads of buds on it so it should be beautiful.
Happy gardening!!!

The Star of the Show!!
All I want to do today is to get out in my garden. However Big daughters first year in UCD has ended and although she is in Dublin, the contents of her life in Dublin have been dumped in my hall, my kitchen not to mention, my dining room and upstairs. Now all I have to do is sort it and find a home for it all!!! I cant even begin to clean my house until this is all sorted. But just to cheer me up I took this picture of the "STAR of the SHOW" as I was putting out the washing. Ahhh beautiful!!!! Now I am focused to get the house sorted and get out!!!

Where to begin.....
I have to start putting up journal entries more often as now when I do sit down to do one I don't know where to begin. I am very pleased with how well the garden is coming on - in most areas. The lawn seed that I planted has worked a treat despite B'for and her best efforts to churn it all up!! Very pleased. The fruit bushes and the apple tree are laden with fruit / flowers.
My lily collection is doing really well. MOST pleased with that!! I was very worried for my Nepalense Lilies. There was no sign of them till yesterday. Thought the cold had got them but we are alive!!! Yippee!!!
My Lavender bed was more or less wiped out by the frosts, so starting from scratch again there.
Dog is in disgrace AGAIN. I have only one Allium left and I found a broken Lily this evening. Why she can not live in peace with the birds - No she has to barge through everything to see them off"The No Fly Zone" that is her garden!!
Veggies are doing well!!!! So far no slug/snail damage!!! Except for one cucumber. Did warn Tom it was too early for them to go out but he couldn't wait. Glad I insisted on holding on to the peppers and chilli.
Apart from that all is just dandy and it is supposed to be beautiful weather wise as this week goes on !!!!Looking forward to getting out and at it!!!

Bank Holiday Monday in the garden
Am pleased to tell you that almost everything in the garden is coming along well. I was in Wexford for most of the weekend but managed to spend all day Monday working in the garden. First there was the big clean up of that dreaded area down behind the trampoline where the compost bin is. Everything that is dug up or cut back is dumped down there!!! Had to remove my big Fuchsia and my Solanum - casualities of the Big Freeze.(and the Solanum was covering the oil tank). However on a brighter note - My lilies are flying up - fruit trees are covered in buds and it looks like my Kiwi is getting flowers. Tiny at the moment but coming - I am very excited about that!!!
The veg garden is coming along - Peas - broccoli and cauliflowers all doing well. Have beans (just in) and beetroot (dont ask LOL). Have Chilipeppers Feresno - Yellow Pepper BlondyF1- Cucumber Femspot and Seweetcorn Seneca Star and tomatoes both standard and tumbling all growing inside. Will hang onto them inside for another couple of weeks - I think.
I will try to get some photos up - but have to go to yoga soon!!!
