Double flower Amaryllis!! Despite everything!

Double flower Amaryllis!! Despite everything!

I am such a bad girl!!! My friends mum, Rosie bought me a Double flower Amaryllis from M & S for Christmas. It has been sitting on a side table in my sitting room ever since. Every time i saw it I would say "Must plant that up" and promptly forget all about it!!!  Until yesterday, that is when I thought someone had been messing with it as it was all pushed up at one side. On closer inspection it appears that the bulb had sprouted!!! No compost - No water and No light!!! I was gobsmacked!!!

It did have these 3 dehydrated discs which were amazing when added to water!! So I planted it up. It looked sooooo funny as the stem and flower bud were at right angles to the bulb :-))))

I left it facing away from the window and I think it is going to be fine!! Sure looks alot better today!!! :-)

Think I will have to.....

Happier times!!!! :-)

Happier times!!!! :-)

give up this gardening lark!!! OMG It is wild out there!! What has survived the snow and the cold is now being battered to death by the wind!!! Please, please tell me that this horrible winter will end and that I will be putting up photos and getting all excited by what is growing/blooming in my garden. Looking out this evening - haven't even ventured out - It doesn't look good!!!
