Gone Potty!

Gone Potty!

At last my daughter Caitlin and I planted half our seeds on Saturday, hope they grow and I got the first cut on the back grass this morning, hubby did front on Sunday!   It makes such a difference to the garden when the grass is cut.

Colourful Primulas

Colourful Primulas

I have never had so much colour in the garden as this spring, everything has been thriving, primroses, primulas, crocoses, snowdrops, heathers, I love it!

Alliums & Bowles Perennial Wallflower

Alliums & Bowles Perennial Wallflower

I love this purple wallflower, I think it is called Bowles Perennial Wallflower, it flowers all year round and you can take cuttings easier than you can say Jack Robinson, they are a must have if you want colour all year and so easy to grow, except when the dogs decide to play on them (won't get a chance when I have my radio fence in place!)  Also my first (ever) alliums are all coming up, I planted 1 Gladiator (Purple), 5 Aflatunense (Pink) and 8 Nigrum (white), I am really looking forward to seeing them flower : )

I planted my rhubarb beside my raised beds, was not sure how deep to plant them but they look healthy enough, I have never grown veg, rhubarb or fruit before so I am learning as I go along.

Chitting Spuds

Chitting Spuds

My potatoes have been chitting for two weeks now, I hope they are doing ok as I have never done this before!  My plan is to plant them around St. Patricks Day, they are British Queens so should be gorgeous (if they grow).  I was told I would need to protect them from blight, how do I do that???

Raised Beds

New Raised Beds

At last I can show you two of my new raised beds, I hope to have three (was to be 4, but have decided to stick with 3 this year).  They have been well fertilised and dug and I am looking forward to filling them (& weeding them!)
